The Lees Participate in Largest Vision Trip Ever!.
Eleven, that’s the largest number of churches ever to participate in a vision trip to northern Mexico.
Al Couch, a.k.a. “Monterrey Jack”, was next to despair; if that’s really possible for Al. However, with only several weeks remaining until the February ’08 Vision Trip, Al had only two churches scheduled to attend. Despite the numerous phone calls, from Al’s vantage point things were looking rather bleak.
God’s word teaches us that our great God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think. And in this case, our Lord provided in the space of just a few short weeks more churches than have ever attended in the past. ELEVEN!
The trip had churches from Florida to Pennsylvania, Virginia to Texas, and everywhere in between. The purpose of these trips is to allow the members of churches in the Presbyterian Church in America an opportunity to see first hand the great need of the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico and specifically, the church planting movement in northern Mexico.
Plan on attending the next vision trip scheduled for August 22-25.

Standing Room Only at First Service
February 17 was an auspicious day for Pablo Chavarria, and his newly formed church plant, Cumbres del Rey (Summits of the King). Having been at work along with his core group for nearly a year preparing for this big day, the church saw more than one hundred people pressing in to find a seat at the opening service. The churches’ tireless efforts, undergirded by the power of the Holy Spirit, filled the first official public service to capacity and beyond. The Lees had the privilege of attending this first service.
The core group made up of Pablo, his wife Velia, and approximately 30 others routinely canvass the surrounding area, going door to door in this largely Roman Catholic neighborhood, and spreading the word about this new Presbyterian church plant. The message, grace alone, by faith alone, through Christ alone.
This is precisely why the Lees have joined Team Northern Mexico. Our desire is to assist church planters like Pablo through sound theological education, practical church planting training, as well as a long term commitment to mentoring the fledgling church planters.
Please keep Pablo and Cumbres del Rey in your prayers. Ask that God would use them mightily to reach out with the hope only the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring. To the glory of God alone.
