Served in Capt. Joseph Howe's company (later Col. Howe).
He participated in the battle of King's Mountain
witnessing Ferguson's defeat and death.
He was also present at the defeat of Lt. Col. Sumter
at the Battle of Fishing Creek.
He served under Gen. Henderson at the "Congarees" from
June 1, 1782 - July 11, 1782,
and also under Gen. Williamson at Briar Creek.
